Six days.

Private

I can't do this anymore. I can't. I just can't.

12 - 9th December 1967

I must admit that I'm awfully glad to not have ended up with the mistletoe following me around school - it looks really rather irritating. Someone I didn't know did try and get me to kiss him, but luckily, I ducked. Perhaps I can persuade Mother that Chasing is a useful skill after all

Also, I miss Quidditch.

Damocles
Could I possibly ask you a favour?
End

Do you ever think about the future and think about taking up a career that others may think to be wildly unsuitable unsuited? I sometimes wonder...

10 - 8th November 1967

I've spent most of the weekend receiving a rather long series of owls from my sister, Hester, regaling me with details of wedding planning and asking me for measurements for the bridesmaids' dresses. I must apologise to anyone in Ravenclaw who was disturbed by the birds arriving at the tower windows over the past couple of days. She showed me a picture of the venue, however, and it does at least look like it will be very pretty.

Ravenclaws
I can't be alone in appreciating a return to normal, can I? I like to know where I stand with approaching events. Routine is no bad thing.

Oh, and Arithmancy students, the magazines are on a pile on the coffee table now I've finished with them. Professor says we are the only house who are likely to appreciate having our own set in the common room.
End

I am rather glad that I've never found anything strange on patrol. I'm not much bothered by who I patrol with either. I do wish I had more time to practice some of the wandwork for Charms, though. Some of the advanced NEWT spells require a certain something that I haven't got my head round yet.

Ravenclaws, minus Benjy
So, I changed my mind. I'm going to the ball after all... how much of a social faux-pas would it be to not bother with fancy dress, though? I can't think of anything.
End

A disadvantage of the fact that the weather has now started to turn is that being able to complete assignments outside is now no longer really plausible. A clear view and fresh air helped to focus the mind on Arithmancy, I felt. I suppose I shall have to make to with going to the top of one of the towers and opening a window.

I think I'm still on a massive high from yesterday.

Team, SO proud of all of you.
End

If anyone is in particular need of calories, I still have rather a lot of uneaten cake from yesterday if you would like to share.

A long fly out on the grounds usually puts me into a good mood, but right now, I just want target practice. If anyone else just wants to throw things, I'll be out on the pitch with the Quaffles in 15 minutes or so.

5 - 7th October 1967

Hester, my middle sister, has just announced her engagement to the family. The wedding will take place just before Christmas, and after that, she will be moving to France as her fiancé works for the French Ministry.

I have never been one for being elaborate when it comes to Halloween costumes, so mine might be a little boring. But then again, I don't really care much. It would be sad if the success of your Halloween rested solely on you having a better costume than someone else, I think.

In the interests of knowing what makes others tick, I have a question.

If you have done or said something that you regret doing or saying, how do you deal with that? Is forgetting the best thing, and if so, how do you do that? If you don't believe in forgetting things, what do you do instead?

2 - 27th September

I did think about saying that it was good to feel like myself again, but after reconsidering the matter, I don't think hair colour is what defines us, is it? It would be rather sad if it was, and as a result, it was rather a shame that so many people felt the need to hide away during this business with the odd hair colours. It could have brightened up the school a little bit to see random colours going around the place.

On another note, I am very much looking forward to seeing who is going to try out at Quidditch year. I think it will do us old hands some good to be pushed by some newcomers... and that goes for all four houses, I think.

Mar. 25th, 2011

1 - 25th September

... my hair colour appears to have morphed. And no, I don't mean like everyone else's has done, but it's changed again. It was a sort of buttery yellow before, but now I think it's starting to go green. Not a slightly disgusting shade like my sister's blonde hair goes sometimes, but actual, full on, so green it would blend with grass green.

I am confused.

It's time to move on...

My birthday was, as it happened, rather marvellous. John James for once pulled his finger out and sent me some fab souvenirs from his epic sejourn in Thailand, and Mum, Dad and I are on a promise for a fancy evening out in London for when I'm home for the holidays from Hogwarts. There'll be no staying at school for me!

The things you discover when out running in the grounds! Today it was someone trying to teach the Giant Squid how to play wizard's chess. I don't think he was really enjoying it much (the squid, that is, not the tutor).

I'm trying to expand my literary horizons beyond school texts and simple novels but thinking of where to start is a tough one. Any recommendations?

Well, turns out Dad has a little more authority than he thought he did - the people who tried to plant fake stories in BBC programming have been suspended without pay, pending a tribunal. I feel sorry for him, really. He only agreed to the job because he loved being a journalist, man management really isn't his thing.

Also, John James turned up. He's been sunning himself in Thailand all this time, the lucky sod.
